As surfers or simple human beings, the Ocean is a huge part of our lives. As an avid surfer the ocean is something that we live in day in and day out. From majestic coastlines to small bays, the ocean covers 71% of the Earths surface. Because of this they are critical for our survival, generating the oxygen we breathe, provide a source of food, regulating climate, cleaning the water we drink, offering a pharmacopoeia of medicines and providing us with a playground of limitless fun!
World Oceans Day is a day of celebration and collaboration to better the future. World Oceans Day has a conservation action focus, encouraging solutions to plastic pollution and preventing marine litter for a healthier ocean and better future.
Whether you live inland or on the coast we are all connected to the ocean. This post is just our small contribution to create awareness about our worlds oceans. Take the time to think about how the ocean affects you, and how you affect the ocean, and take the time to share this with others.
With events being held worldwide today to support an amazing cause, check out http://www.worldoceansday.org for more information on what's happening in your area.
